PRESS RELEASE from Nancy Brunner Sanden

Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center wins 2009 Beautification Award in the commercial category for the City of Mentor.

It is with pride that the Management and Staff at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center accept this award from the City of Mentor Beautification Committee.

The staff at Brunner's works hard to keep the grounds immaculate on a daily basis... even on Sundays! The funeral home property is a special, sacred place. A funeral is a celebration, recognition, an honor that happens once to a person. Every detail must be perfect. The grounds play a big part in the event.

We take this recognition as serious as we do the upkeep and maintenance of our building and grounds. Upon entering our property, all visitors must feel welcomed, says Eric Rutan, groundskeeper.  All interior and exterior maintenance, cleaning, grounds upkeep and many repairs are handled by myself and a team of staff.  The grounds are cleaned, swept and maintained daily for the families we serve.

Planting of geraniums is a springtime tradition for Brunner's, dating back to the 1960’s when my grandmother used to plant them, says Jason Sanden.  This year I wanted to change things up and selected a vibrant, new color. Together with my staff we planted over 700 geraniums to create a colorful landscaping design.  In addition, the wreaths on the entrance doors were designed and created in house to coordinate with the new, colorful landscaping.  I am pleased it had an impact. We received numerous compliments and now this award.

Inside and out we are attentive to every detail. You deserve the very best service and setting.  We have an exceptional staff and promise to continue to maintain our property to the very highest standard, says Sanden.

A special thank you to the nominating committee, to all who recognize and appreciate our efforts and to all who voted for Brunner's.
