Memorial service for Mary Ann "Grandma Red" Lawrence Centnar, age 71, a
lifelong Mentor resident, but who lived in Houston, Texas from 1978 to 1998,
will be 1 p.m. Friday May 16, 2008 at Mentor Plains United Methodist Church,
7271 Lake Shore Blvd., Mentor. Mrs. Centnar died Tuesday, May 13,
2008, at Hospice House in Cleveland. She was born March 29, 1937, in
Willoughby.
She was a member of Mentor Plains United Methodist Church, where she was a
Sunday School teacher. She loved to watch Swan's in all their natural
beauty, especially at Granger's Pond. She also loved to do crafts.
Mrs. Centnar worked as a hairdresser at Raun's Hair Salon in Kirtland.
Survivors are her husband, Richard Centnar of Fairport Harbor; daughters,
Dawn (Tom) Hilscher of Mentor and Lynne Rogers of LaPorte, Texas; sons, John
(Lisa) Lawrence of Mentor and Spank (Nancy) Lawrence of Mentor-on-the-Lake;
two stepdaughters; four stepsons; seven grandchildren, Felicia and Chelsey
Hilscher, Che and Chris Rogers, and Braden, Eric and Josh Lawrence; sister,
Wini Lyman of Willoughby; brothers, John (Jane) Vorel of Florida and David
(Betty) Dann of Painesville; and former son-in-law, Tom Rogers of LaPorte,
Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Eleanor
Dann.
