Funeral service for Charlie B. Grubb, 74, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Friday May 9, 2008 at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.  Mr. Grubb died Monday, May 5, 2008, at his residence.  He was born July 9, 1933, in Wytheville, Va., he had lived in Eastlake before moving to Mentor 23 years ago.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and an avid reader and Indians fan.  Mr. Grubb was a machine repairman for 19 years at G.E., Ivanhoe Road Plant.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Freda; three children, Mikki (Ed) Gardner of Eastlake, Sherri (Doug Whiting) Lang of Painesville and Kelli Grubb of Mentor; eight grandchildren, Brandi (Joe) Sullivan, Misti Gardner, Amii (Lou Yerick) Lang, Linsey (Jim Hanks) Lang, Matthew Lang, Randy Grubb, Amanda (Tim) Good, and Blake Grubb; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elizabeth Jennings of Euclid, Ethel Gravley of Galax, Va., Shirley Hancock of Willoughby, and Margaret (Gerald) Sterle of Mentor; and five brothers, Rudolph Grubb of Wytheville, Va., Walter Grubb of Mentor, Richard (Carol) Grubb of Springfield, Clarence (Debi) Grubb of Yorktown, Va., and Curtis (Barbara) Grubb of Mentor.  He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Grubb; parents, Charlie and Ola Grubb; sister, Betty Isom; brother, Eddie Grubb; and son-in-law, Scott Lang.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
