Russell E. Higgs, age 83, of Mentor, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. He was born Oct. 26, 1924, in Canton.

He was a 1943 graduate of Coshocton High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed painting and playing on his computer.
Mr. Higgs was a quality control engineer at NorthRop Grumman for many years prior to his retirement.
 

Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Gene K. (Erman); sons, Steve (Brenda) Higgs of Pataskala, Ohio and Gary Higgs of Eastlake; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Finton of Newcomerstown; one niece; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Harriet Higgs.
