Alice L. Sersain (nee Kirchner)

Alice L. Sersain (nee Kirchner), age 76, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Lake West Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved wife of 57 years to James; mother to Sheri Owens (Keith) and David Sersain (Michael) and grandmother to Sean Patrick Owens. Alice retired in 2010 after having a successful career in retail sales at the May Company /Kaufmanns/Macy’s for over 31 years. She was a selling manager in the Men’s Nautica and Ralph Lauren Polo department where she dressed a countless number of men that had no fashion sense of their own. She excelled at customer interaction making every one of her customers feel as good about themselves as they looked when they left her department and she won many awards for her talents. Alice loved entertaining, especially during the holidays. She and Jim held so many great parties over the years that friends and family still talk about them to this day. If you left their house hungry or thirsty, it was your own fault! Throughout her life, she volunteered in many community and school activities from Little League Baseball, school PTA’s, the Music Mentors Group at Mentor High School and for many years with the Mentor High PTA Circus. She leaves behind many family and friends as well as her brothers, Bob Kirchner (Barb) and Jack Landy (Donna). She is also survived by her dearest cousin, Nancy Zehe as well as her cherished friends of many years, Carol Morgan, Maureen Obrzut and Ann Shetler. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Friday March 4, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Masks are optional. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Saturday March 5, 2022 at Section 33 in Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Rd., Mentor, OH 44060; please meet at the cemetery.
