Bonivere M. Stewart

January 31, 1926 - December 4, 2020

Bonivere M. Stewart, a resident of Mentor for 62 years, passed away December 4th at the age of 94. She was born in Kingsville, Ohio on January 31st, 1926. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jerry Stewart, whom she met in kindergarten, and by her parents, Forest Watters and Rosabelle Kendall Watters. Bonnie lived a wonderful and full life, when she left high school she headed out to Kansas City to attend TWA Flight attendant school, but being only 4 foot 10 inches she was considered too short. So during WWII, she did her part by becoming Cleveland Steel Improvement’s head accountant until the men came home from the war. She worked there until she married in 1952. She then worked at Mentor Electric as an executive secretary until she retired in 1991. She then started her travels around the world, visiting places in Europe, the Middle East, seeing the Holy land and cruising down the Nile River and so many more amazing places Bonnie’s favorite toast was Here’s to it to do it and to do it again. In case you don’t get to it you may never get to it to do it again. She was a loving mother and a doting grandma. She was a member of Mentor Methodist church and the Mentor Women’s Club. She leaves behind 2 sons, Jerry M. Stewart of Mentor - wife Sandra Stewart, Jeffery S. Stewart of Mentor; 3 grandchildren Jeremy Stewart of Mentor wife- Tiffany, Katie Stewart of Mentor, and Brianna Stewart of Willoughby, and two great-grandchildren Emilia Stewart and Zoey Stewart. Private family services will be held in memory of Bonnie with inurnment taking place in Whitehaven Memorial Park.
