Donald R. "Don" Wallenfelsz Sr.

Donald R. “Don” Wallenfelsz Sr., age 85 of Mentor passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Maple Ridge Senior Living with his family by his side. He was born May 3, 1936 in Cleveland, OH. Don was a graduate of Mentor High School, Class of 1955. He was a veteran of the US Marine Reserves. Out of High School Don was employed by the Addressograph Multigraph Corp. in Euclid until 1982 and finished his career at Feedall Automation (Willoughby) as an Inventory Control Manager. As a side hustle that started in High School for countless years, Don was passionate of auto body repair and restoration in which he exercised his considerable skills and was no doubt a perfectionist. Don also enjoyed model building, coin and stamp collecting. His greatest satisfaction came from his grandchildren growing up and his involvement with all their activities. He will certainly be remembered for his sense of humor and willingness to always offer a helping hand. Surviving Donald are his children: Joyce “Joy Ann” Maikut, Jackie (Patrick) Smith and Donald R. (Karen) Wallenfelsz Jr.; grandchildren: Charles “Chuck” (Carley) Bolden III, Joann Maikut, Emily, Andrew and Megan Smith, Kelly (Dan) Humphrey and Donald R. Wallenfelsz III and great-grandchildren: Charles Bolden IV and Theodore Ross Humphrey. Preceding Donald in death are his wife of 33 years: Joan Wallenfelsz, parents: Otto and Margaret Wallenfelsz and sisters: Dorothy Lee Barner and Mary Margaret “Marge” Wilson. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. The funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, March 18, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery, Mentor, OH.
