Gerard Pristera Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gerard Pristera, of Geneva on the Lake, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2022 at home. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 19, 1953 to the late Albert and Carmella Pristera. Affectionately known as “Jerry” by friends and family, he graduated High School in 1971. Following in his Father’s footsteps he joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. America, CV-66 stationed out of Jacksonville, Florida. After his Navy Service Jerry began a career in Law Enforcement and moved up the ranks from K-9 Officer to Chief of Police for G.O.T.L., OH. Jerry loved camping, boating and fishing, and enjoyed being outdoors. His hobbies included model trains, watching movies and Italian cooking; serving up incredible meals for his family, which he always put first. He will be greatly missed. Jerry was a very active member at The Ashtabula Pentecostal Church of God where he would often volunteer, cooking for those in need. Survivors include his children, Stephanie Pristera, Angela Pristera and Gerard Pristera; grandchildren, Tyler Elliott and Henry Heinlein; siblings, Cheryl (Marty) Wilson and Ronald (MaryJo) Pristera and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. A private family burial will take place in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
