January 2, 1957 - January 21, 2022

James P. Arbaczewski, 65, of Concord Twp., passed away January 21, 2022, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. He was born January 2, 1957 in Cleveland. Jim was raised in the Polish American tradition at St. Casimir Catholic Church. He graduated from St. Joseph High School and attended John Carroll University. Jim was an integral part of the Ferrante Winery family business for 25 years as Wholesale Wine Manager. Jim was inducted into the Ohio Wine Industry Hall of Fame, served on boards of the Ohio Wine Producers Association, Ohio Grape Industries Committee, Lake County Visitors Bureau, as well as other civic and industry associations. He loved his job! Prior to joining Ferrante Winery, Jim worked as a manager for Giant Eagle, maintaining lifelong friendships with many former co-workers. Jim’s great passions in life were cruising and beach vacations with his loving wife Carmel, Jimmy Buffet, Cleveland Browns, maintaining his yard, his convertible, and golf. Most of all, he loved his family. His family and friends loved his smile, laugh, and witty sense of humor. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Carmel (nee Ferrante); sister, Carol (Hugh “Corky” Johnson) Arbaczewski; brothers and sisters in law: Nicholas (Valerie) Ferrante, Anna (Joe Stone) Schroeder, Peter (Sharon) Ferrante, Mary Jo Ferrante, Lisa (Craig Nusrala) DeLuca, Paula (Ronald) Tucker, and Anthony (Lindsay Arietta) Ferrante; nieces & nephews: Alexandra, Joseph, Ashley, Todd, Dante, Dominick, Gianni, Jessica, Janeen, Heather, Erika, MaKenna, Isabella and Jason; and other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Irene Arbaczewski (nee Rudzinski). The family will receive friends from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Jim’s life will be held 10 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060 (Please meet at the church.) Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Twp.
