Jane Rose (Meissner) Tierno, age 74, a longtime resident of Mentor, passed away peacefully, on January 29, 2021.She was born May 30th, 1946 in Bedford, Ohio, but lived in Maple Heights, Ohio during her youth and early years of her marriage. Jane was a 1964 graduate of Marymount High School and was employed at Industrial First before becoming a stay at home mom in 1969. As long time members, Jane and Craig enjoyed frequenting the Cleveland Zoo, Natural History Museum, Botanical Gardens, and Holden Arboretum and the special events held there. Recent trips over the years to Gettysburg, New England, Wash DC, Tampa, St. Augustine, Sarasota and the Grand Canyon were incredibly adventurous and entertaining. Jane loved her grandchildren with all her heart, watching them succeed in school, sports and in life. To hear from them lit her day full of happiness and joy. Jane was so proud of her sons’ accomplishments and lives. She missed doing her needle work, crocheting and reading a good book but turned her focus on teaching her husband how to cook and clean house. She enjoyed watching and going to see SyFy adventure mystery drama type movies. She loved her dogs that have gone before her, Robbie, Spencer and Misty. Survivors are her beloved husband of 54 years, Craig Tierno; sons, Christopher Tierno (wife Amy) of Painesville and Mark Tierno of Painesville Township; and grandsons Nick (wife Anya), Tyler, Zach, and Matthew, sister Marion Kovach (Meissner) of Valdosta, Georgia and brother Andrew Meissner of Strongsville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Julia Meissner. Due to the pandemic, a private family memorial celebration was held. An internet link will be provided of the service to family and close friends.
