Linnette "JJ" Curran

July 14, 1973 - June 2, 2022

Linnette “JJ” Curran, age 48 of Hilliard, OH formerly of Eastlake and Chardon, OH, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022 at home. She was born July 14, 1973 in Willoughby, OH. Linnette “JJ” fought against demons of addiction and depression throughout her life. The demons won. She just wanted to be numb to the pain and loneliness she felt deep inside. She couldn’t see nor accept the help and love that many offered her. Her death was drug related, but likely not intentional. The demons won. A Mentor High School graduate, Linnette possessed a kind, engaging and out-going personality, even in times of personal struggle or physical illness. She loved deeply. She found a spiritual home at the Columbus Center for Spiritual Living and truly believed that God is in everyone, everything and everywhere. She daily thanked and appreciated her friends and family for their love and support. She loved all genres of music and while her singing was questionable, she was the first one and the best one on the dance floor. In her better times, she enjoyed family gatherings, musical theater with her favorite aunt, fashion, the Browns, Cavs and of course the Ohio State Buckeyes. She left her handprint on the hearts of many. Survivors include her father: James C. Curran; favorite aunt: Jeannette Harrison; special aunts: Gail Snewin and Brenda Mougey; great aunts: Betty Iacona and Edith Hott; uncles: Gregory (Aida) Harrison, Edward “Buddy” (Linda) Harrison and William (Diane) Curran; special friend: Dawn Phillips; cousins: Diane Dilella, Thea Hott and Louisa (Tom) Pescha; Iacona cousins and their families and stepfather: Karl Hoffman. Preceding Linnette in death are her mother: Joanne V. Hoffman; grandparents: Edward and Caroline Hoffman and Samuel and Doris Curran and Uncle: Angelo Iacona The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday, June 20, 2022 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave, Mentor, OH, 44060. A memorial service will be 7:00 pm Monday, June, 20, 2022 with Pastor Christal Hoffman officiating. A committal service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Rd. Mentor, OH. 44060, Section: 24.
