Norma M. Morris, age 85, of Mentor, died January 13, 2022 at University Hospital’s Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. She was born September 26, 1936 in Monongahela, PA. Norma Morris came to Cleveland in 1954 after graduating from Monongahela High School. She began employment as an Ohio Bell Operator in downtown Cleveland. She later became a switch board operator at Sears and worked in Dock Pick up. Norma was often recognized annually as the top performer when it came to filling out new credit applications. She had a real talent for public relations and communication. Norma retired from Sears, after30+ years. After retiring, she enjoyed giving tours at the Mentor Senior Center. Norma was also a breast cancer survivor (1978). As a survivor, to give back, she would volunteer her time to visit hospitals to help spread hope and encouragement to other women who were going through what she went through. Norma treasured spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. During family visits, she enjoyed gathering on the back porch and sitting on her porch swing. In her younger days, she enjoyed travelling to visit family in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. During weekend gatherings and holidays, Norma enjoyed cooking the family meals. Everyone and their friends were always welcome. To know Norma was to love Norma. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She always made you feel better about yourself. She will be especially remembered as a great listener, a great advice giver, and everyone’s biggest fan. She had a never- ending love and sense of devotion to her family. Not to mention, the best hugs to back it up. She will be severely missed every day for the rest of our lives. With gratitude, we want to thank her. We love you, Norma! Survivors include her children, Vicki (Randy) Morris - Kocher, Debra Hale and Ken (Jodi) Morris; grandchildren, Matthew (Tish) Donahue, Michael (Sequoya) Donahue, Robert (Jacey) Morris - Ledenican, Louie (Torrey) Hale, Bill (Alyssa) Morris, Christina Angus, Sarah Smith and Zach Morris; and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bubby” Morris; daughter, Constance “Connie” Smith; parents, George and Elizabeth Stuyvesant; sister, Jane Bucy and her brothers, Jack and George Stuyvesant.
