Paul Edward Hipsher Jr.

July 31, 1938 - February 17, 2021

Paul Edward Hipsher Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Paul was born in Cleveland on July 31, 1938 to the late Paul Edward Hipsher Sr. and Christine (Rice) Hipsher of Eastlake. Paul was a longtime resident of the Willoughby/Eastlake area but currently living at Heather Hill Nursing Home in Chardon. Paul was a graduate of Willoughby Union High School, Class of 1956. He worked at Chase Brass and Copper Company and PMX in Euclid, OH. He was a physical testing fuel tech. Paul was an avid bowler and a member of the Northeast Traveling Leagues and Vine Lanes in Eastlake. He also enjoyed golfing and was a US Army Veteran and member of the Willoughby Eagles, Elks Club, and VFW. Paul is survived by his brother, John O. Hipsher of Eastlake; sisters, Emilie June (Jim, deceased) Davis and Olivia T. (Daniel) Ockuly (Hipsher-Godfrey) of Kirtland. He was the loving and cherished step-father to Debi (Bill) Waterhouse of Lorain, Donna (Don) Bosco of Arizona and Mariam Couch of Cleveland; devoted grandfather to Erik Stewart of Arizona, Autumn Stewart of Arizona, Mike Grinstead of Arizona, John (Roxanne) Waterhouse of Cleveland, Matthew (Andrea) Waterhouse of Cleveland, Taylor (Justin) Strosnider of Cleveland and Breanna Couch of Cleveland; He was also the devoted uncle to Louis J. Godfrey of Mentor-on-the-Lake, John (Mary) Godfrey of Cleveland Hts., Paul L. (Rachelle) Godfrey of Wickliffe, Christine (Pete) Amata of Willoughby and James Davis Jr. of Columbus; Paul was the great uncle to Savanna Rose Godfrey, Sierra Godfrey and Connor Godfrey all of Kirtland, Isaac Godfrey of Cleveland Hts., Dr. Nicholas Amata of Columbus, Nathan Amata of Columbus, Alexander and Anthony Amata of Willoughby. Preceding Paul in death was his first wife, Carolyn L. Hipsher (nee: Clack) of Willoughby, who passed away in 1985; his second wife, Paula Ann Hipsher (nee: Moon) of Eastlake, who passed away in 2000 and his brother-in-law, James Davis. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
