Robert H. “Bob” Milko, age 86 of Mentor, passed away Thursday January 6, 2022 at Danbury Senior Living of Mentor. He was born January 20, 1935 in Cleveland. Bob was married to the love of his life, Rosella “Babe” Milko for 66 years and had three beautiful daughters. Bob was a retired Reliability Engineer for Fisher Body/General Motors for 37 years. He was a proud graduate of East Tech High School in Cleveland and General Motors Institute (GMI class of 1960). He was a US Army Veteran and a member of B.P.O.E. Elk’s Club #549 in Painesville. Bob and his late wife “Babe” were longtime parishioners of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Mentor. For over 50 years, they were members of Fairport Harbor Yacht Club (FHYC), where you could find them on their boat “Polish Pop”. On summer nights, they enjoyed hanging at their dock box socializing with friends. He enjoyed taking his kids and grandchildren fishing on his boat as well. He was proud of his Polish Heritage and loved Polka Music and Dancing. He was known to all his friends as “Stash”. Bob was an avid woodworker in his home workshop and always had the goal of owning the most tools. He enjoyed building furniture for his family and friends. He was an avid handyman who could work on anything from cars to boats to home improvement. He best enjoyed helping his kids with their own home improvement projects. He was a diehard Cleveland sports fan and cheered them on through thick and thin. He was known for giving nicknames to just about any Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers player through the years. He enjoyed golfing and growing vegetables in his garden. He was known for his secret recipe of “Stash’s Hot Peppers” that he enjoyed sharing with friends and family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing with them for over 20 years to New Smyrna, FL. Surviving Bob in death are his daughters: Sherrie (Paul) Burke, Joyce (William “Billy”) Burke, and Roberta (Charles “Chuck”) Milko-Brunner; grandchildren: Scott (Stephanie) Burke, Kevin (Ivy) Burke, Justin (Maria) Burke, Kelly (Will Pan) Burke, Morgan (Jason Kohorst) Brunner and Nathan “Nate” Brunner and great-grandchildren: Ethan and Emerie Burke, Logan and Ryan Burke, Jack, Elliana and Tai Pan. Preceding Bob in death are his wife of 66 years: Rosella “Babe” (Persichitti) Milko; parents: Albert and Jennie Milko and sister: Elaine (Chester) Kaczmarski. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Friday, January 28, 2022 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. The family asks the people attending the visitation to come in your favorite Cleveland Sports Apparel. It will be a tailgate celebration of Bob’s Life. A funeral mass will be 10:00 am Saturday January 29, 2022 at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd. Mentor, OH. 44060. Please meet at the church. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery, Mentor, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O.
