Sheila R. Sasala, 84, of Perry, passed away April 21, 2022 at the David Simpson Hospice House, Cleveland. She was born July 17, 1937 in Springfield, OH to the late Herman and Dee Stroup. Sheila grew up in Dayton. Until she went to Ohio State, where she met and fell in love with a young veterinary student. She couldn't cook at all when they got married, but she became a very accomplished cook as the years went on. Sheila worked as a secretary for many years, then she went to classes to become a veterinary technician. She loved that work and was proud of her accomplishments. She got to work with her husband. And she got to work with animals. She enjoyed entertaining, especially in the summertime with the pool open. So many people have commented on her smile, her easy laughter and her merry heart. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Sasala; nieces and nephews, Steven Sasala, Mary Beth Sasala, Rick (Nancy) Sasala, Carol Sasala and Mark (Rosemary) Sasala and 9 great-nieces and nephews. Preceding Sheila in death are her husband, James Sasala; father and mother in law, Steven and Margaret Sasala and brothers and sister in law, Raymond Sasala and Richard (Joyce) Sasala. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022 at St. Cyprian Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Rd., Perry, OH 44081. Please meet at the church. Burial to follow in Perry Cemetery.
