Linda
May Becket, 64, of Warren, Pa., passed away Feb. 14, 2012, after a brief
battle with cancer.
Linda was born Oct. 25, 1947, in East Cleveland.
She graduated from Mentor High School in 1965, and then enlisted in the U.S.
Air Force, stationed in Novato, Calif.
She was a medical transcriptionist for hospitals in Jamestown, N.Y., and
Mentor, and ended her career working in medical records at a nursing home in
Warren, Pa. She then retired to take care of her ailing mother who passed
away in 2008.
Linda, known as "Mickey" to many, enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed
reading, playing cards, and "googling" on her computer. She spent her
summer's camping at the Bayshore KOA Campground in Sandusky, so she could
spend time with her granddaughters watching them play softball and
volleyball. She made many great friends at the campground. She also loved
doing things with her longtime high school friends, Ustine, Maria, Gene,
Johnny, Sue and Scott. Mickey was an animal lover leaving behind her three
dogs and two cats.
Linda leaves behind her husband of 20 years and love of her life, Forrest
"Doug" Becket; sons, Christopher (Tina) O'Hara of Sandusky, and Kevin of
Warren, Pa.; granddaughters, Corrine and Brittney O'Hara of Sandusky;
sister, Valerie (Robert) Koll of Syracuse, N.Y.; brother, Scott McKoon of
Fairport Harbor; many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joyce (Burnette) and Vern McKoon.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18,
2012, at the Brunner Reception Center located on Property at the Brunner
Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor,
OH 44060.
