A Funeral Mass for Betty A. Daugert, 74, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m.
Tuesday February 23, 2010 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave.,
Mentor.
Mrs. Daugert died Feb. 19, 2010, in Cleveland. Born Feb. 8, 1936, in
Cleveland, she was a Mentor resident for the past 43 years and a former
resident of Euclid. Mrs. Daugert was a secretary for St. Mary Schools for
28 years, retiring in 1998.
She belonged to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she was
active in Helping Hand, Marian Medal and was involved with the Girl Scouts
for 25 years, where the girls referred to her as "Mrs. D" or "Mom." She
also helped with the fish fries for 25 years and coached basketball and
softball. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruising, bowling, playing
cards and gardening (especially growing roses), and was a Cleveland sports
fan who loved to be with her grandsons.
Survivors include her husband, Ken; daughter Terri (Kevin) Clemens of
Concord; grandsons, Bradley and Zachary; and brothers, John (Anna Mae)
Yanchar of Mentor and Leonard (Cookie) Yanchar of N.J. She was preceded in
death by her parents, John and Elsie Yanchar.
The visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brunner
Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave.,Mentor, OH. Interment will be in
All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
