Edward M. Kiggins, 80, of Mentor for the past 30 years, and formerly of Wisconsin, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Hospice House in Cleveland. Mr. Kiggins was born March 26, 1929, in New Canaan, Conn.

He received his Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Connecticut. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard.
Mr. Kiggins worked for Lubrizol until his retirement.

Survivors are his wife, Beverly; children, Brian (Julie) Kiggins of Worthington and Gayle (Neal) Britton of Leroy; grandchildren, Ashlie, Josh, Kathryn and Alex; brother, Andrew Kiggins of Calif.; and sister, Bernadette Stites of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Kiggins; and his parents, Edward and Joan Kiggins.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday March 8, 2010 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor 44060. The family will host a reception immediately following the service at the Brunner Community Room.
