 Mary
Koenig, age 93, of Mentor for past 56 years, died Sunday Feb. 28, 2010, at
Altenheim Skilled Nursing Facility in Strongsville. She was born Jan.
20, 1917, in Pawnee, Ill.
Mrs. Koenig had worked as a department manager for the former Uncle Bills.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Mentor and
a 50-year member of the E.O.U.V. (1st Austrian Benefit Society) Ladies
Auxiliary.
She was the loving mother of Karen (Andy Jr.) Kromer of Strongsville and
Joseph (Sandy) Koenig III of Mentor; dear grandmother of Annette (Jeff)
Mecklenburg, Andy (Kelley) Kromer III, Stephen (Lisa) Koenig, Christopher
(Molly) Koenig, Joseph (Jennifer) Koenig, Mark (Carrie) Koenig and Mary
Koenig; and great-grandmother of 12.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Koenig Jr.; and sisters,
Augusta Finke, Elizabeth Primosch and Bertha Hoegler.
Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday March 4, 2010 at St. Mary of the Assumption
Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brunner
Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township. |
