Patricia
""Pat"" Leskovec, 73, of Mentor for the past 44 years, died Thursday,
Feb. 9, 2012, at home with her husband, Joe, by her side.
She was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Cleveland.
Mrs. Leskovec was an administrative assistant at Lubrizol Corporation in
Wickliffe for 20 years, until her retirement in 2006. Before that, she
was co-owner and operator with her husband, Joe, of The Mentor Shore
Paint & Wall Covering Store from 1972 to 1983. She also taught in the
Maple Heights and Mentor School Systems the business education classes.
Since retirement, she has worked part-time for Baywater Management.
Patricia graduated from the former Ursuline of Sacred Heart High School
in East Cleveland and Bowling Green State University with a bachelor of
science in education. She was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Church,
where she sang in the Sunday choir. She also sang in the Sweet Adelines
for 25 years. Pat loved to ice skate and golf, especially at Black Brook
Golf Course in Mentor in the Thursday Par-Tee's Women's League.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Joseph G. Leskovec; daughter,
Carol (Brock) Metzger-Sturgeon of Findlay; son, George J. Leskovec of
Parma Heights; and grandchildren, Luke Metzger, Sarah and Emily Leskovec,
Brooke and Alaina Sturgeon.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elizabeth
Carney.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday February 13, 2012 at St. Bede the Venerable Church,
9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Brunner
Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave.,
Mentor.
