James
A. "Jimmy" McCue, age 94, a lifelong Painesville resident, died Sunday, Feb.
12, 2012, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
He was born May 27, 1917, in Gary, Ind.
Mr. McCue retired from Diamond Shamrock in Fairport Harbor. He was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European and African Theatres.
Survivors include his children, Sandy (Joe) Cardina of Painesville, Carol
Banker of Denver, N.C., and Barry (Judy) McCue of Concord Township;
grandchildren, Phillip (Jodi) Cardina, Christopher (Lisa) Cardina, Tracey (fiance,
Scott Timbrook) Cardina, Stacey (fiance, Don Bennington) Mann, Cathy (Jim)
Benko, Amanda (Matt) Schaser, Shannon McCue and Matthew (Jodi) McCue; 14
great-grandchildren; and his wife of four years, Erma Laymon McCue and her
family.
James was preceded in death by his first wife of 64 years, Laura J. McCue;
grandson, Patrick Barry McCue; sister, Eleanor Caplinger; and son-in-law,
Connard Banker.
A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at
Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
