Helen M. Ostanek, age 84, of Mentor for the past 20 years,
formerly of East Cleveland, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010. Mrs. Ostanek
worked in the banking industry, eventually retiring from Cleveland Trust.
She was a member of Mentor Plains United Methodist Church and served as a
longtime volunteer at Lake Farmpark, Penitentiary Glen and the Mentor Senior
Center.
Survivors include her children, Douglas Ostanek, Carl (Karen) Ostanek,
Elizabeth Ruby, and Steven (Karen) Ostanek; grandchildren Kristyn and Lauren
Ostanek; and brother, Charles (Kay) Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J.; and sister, Elizabeth
Nelson.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Sunday February 21, 2010 at Brunner Funeral
Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor 44060.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family will host a reception in the Brunner Community Room immediately
following the service on Sunday.
