Lori
Ann Petersen, 42 of Euclid for the past 3 years formerly of Mentor and
Painesville Township, died Wednesday January 25, 2012 at home.
She was born September 8, 1969 in Willoughby.
Lori's life was being a mother and caring for her daughter Sarah. Sarah is
11 years old and fighting a rare disease called Fanconi Anemia. Sarah will
need a bone marrow transplant. Lori was relentless in trying to find a cure
or organizations to help with Sarah's care. Lori also loved her family pets.
She was a member of St. John of the Cross Church in Euclid and a former
member of Holy Cross Church.
Ms. Petersen was a medical coder for the Cleveland Clinic and Universal
Therapy Dynamics.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Sarah Petersen at home; mother,
Janice T. (Kenneth J.) Sysak of Mentor; father, Paul M. Petersen of
Willoughby Hills; sisters, Lisa Petersen of Mentor and Holly Basco of Leroy
Township; step-sister, Jennifer Sysak of Willowick; step-brother, Nicholas
Sysak of Rock Creek; nieces, Nicole Petersen and Emily Seamon; nephews,
Branden and Bradley Basco; and family pets, Cody and Suzie.
Preceding Lori in death are her grandparents, Michael and Rose Filipovic;
Ralph and Mary Petersen; and uncle, Michael Filipovic.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at St. John of the Cross
Church,140 Richmond Road. Euclid.
The family will receive friends 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at Brunner
Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family to help with
paying medical expenses for Sarah.
