Peter
D. Shaw, age 74, of Mentor for the past 43 years and formerly of Lyndhurst,
died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Hillcrest Hospital Mayfield Heights.
He was born Dec. 8, 1935, in Cleveland.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, bowling, disco dancing, raising Siberian
huskies, gardening and crossword puzzles.
Mr. Shaw was a retired journeyman electrician for I.B.E.W Local 38, where he
was a 55-year member.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carol J. (Ford) Shaw; daughter,
Tracy L. Wood of Mentor; grandchildren, Justin (Desiree) Wood of Wickliffe
(and will be a great-grandfather any day now to Ariella Wood); nieces, Linda
(Donald) Seamon, Laura Fuentes, Rhonda (Dale) Cox, Rebecca (John) Oliver and
Sharon Brown; nephew, Donald (Carol) Ford; sister-in-law, Ellene Ford; and
many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton "Bud" and Paula J. Shaw;
mother-in-law, Chloris Ford; sister-in-law, Clara Ford Kennison; and
brothers-in-law, Sydney, George, Denzil and Donald Ford.
The family will host a Celebration of Life reception at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to American
Lung Association, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44131, c/o Peter
D. Shaw Memorial Fund. |
