David
S. Simko, 62, of Geneva for the past five years, formerly of Painesville
Township, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Pine Grove Health Care Center in
Geneva. He was born June 3, 1947, in Painesville.
Mr. Simko was a retired machinist from John L. Molnar Industries in
Willoughby and the former Chase Brass and Copper in Euclid.
He was a graduate of Riverside High School Class of 1965, attended Kent
State University in Kent, and received a degrees from Cooper Arts School in
Cleveland and Famous Art Institute of Connecticut. He also enjoyed art,
drumming and fishing.
Mr. Simko was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany during the
Vietnam War in the helicopter division.
Survivors are his mother, Margaret F. (Ehouse) Simko of Mentor; siblings,
Richard T. (Patricia) Simko of Los Altos Hills, Calif., Frances K. Simko of
Painesville, William M. (Barbara) Simko of Las Vegas, Nev., Carol M.
(Richard) Armao of Concord Township, Daniel J. (Elizabeth) Simko of Concord
Township, and Dennis J. Simko of Ashtabula; and nieces and nephews,
Collette, Errin, Tiffany, Dustin, Nathan, Jacob and Jared Simko and Brandon
Armao.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve R. Simko.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday March 16, 2010 at St. Mary Church,
242 North State St.. Painesville. (Please meet at the church.)
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brunner Funeral Home &
Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Interment will be in Riverside
Cemetery in Painesville. |
