Dale Snyder

Dale Snyder, 71, of Concord Twp., was lifted up to Heaven on January 1, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 8, 1952 in Erie, PA to the late Robert and Rose Iris Snyder. Dale was a faithful servant to God and was grateful for all the blessings he was given in his life. Dale was a 1970 graduate of Harbor High School in Ashtabula, OH, and earned an electrical engineering degree from Ohio Northern University. He furthered his education at Case Western University and graduated from Xavier University with his Master’s in Business. Dale was a man of great spirit who married his high school sweetheart Deb, and together they spent 50 years building a wonderful life. They raised their family with fun traditions that usually involved food and lots of laughs. He made it a point to take his family to Hilton Head every summer, a tradition that will be carried on and cherished. Dale took on many roles over the years, but it was clear that being a Dad and Poppy to his kids and grandkids was his greatest source of pride. Dale proudly worked his entire career at Rockwell Automation where he met some of his best friends. This provided him and Deb the opportunity to live in Brussels where they spent nearly two years exploring the world together and with their dear friends. It would be hard to mention Dale without some of his favorite hobbies like golf, racquetball, Corvette club, Cleveland sports, and music. He never met a golf course he wouldn’t play and certainly didn’t miss a chance to have a beer or an unsweet iced tea with a friend. Through all phases of life, Dale’s love for music has followed him and he often updated his greatest hits list. Helping others was a top priority for him; those he knew and through his philanthropic spirit. He was generous with his time and always willing to lend a hand or give advice. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Deb Snyder; children Geoff (Katie) Snyder, Lindsay (Nate) Crosby and Carly (Mike Gietl) Snyder; grandchildren, Nolan Snyder, Susanna, Emelynn and Clara Crosby; sister, Bonnie (Dale) Butcher; dog and faithful companion, Mr. Blu and many nieces, nephews, grand-dogs and cats and so many other loving family members and friends. Preceding Dale in death are his parents and his sister, Nancy Gray. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio 44060. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Avenue, at 10 a.m. Dale received the gift of time through a bone marrow transplant in 2020. In those 3+ years the family made memories to last a lifetime.
