You may choose a casket burial or urn burial (if cremation is used), both offering the opportunity for a funeral and visitation held prior to interment. Funeral services prior to burial can be beneficial in helping loved ones begin to grieve their loss. Your funeral director will assist you with planning the details of the interment, such as working with the cemetery of your choice.
If you plan on having an open-casket viewing at the visitation, embalming will be necessary. Embalming is the treatment (of a dead body) so as to preserve it. Your funeral director will also discuss how you would like your loved one dressed in the casket, including jewelry, and details such as makeup and hair style.
Your will need to choose a burial casket or burial urn, as well as an accompanying burial vault (depending on the requirements of the cemetery). Your Funeral Director will walk you through our on-site casket
showroom in the arrangement center to see examples of caskets and vaults on display.
Materials for caskets range from wood to metal and vaults are typically concrete or metal. A Veterans casket is available to view in our arrangement center and is a unique way to honor your Veteran. If you choose a casket burial, your funeral director will also ask you to identify pallbearers for the casket if you choose to have them.
Many families choose to add a Celebration of Life event
following the burial at the cemetery where friends and family can gather to pay
tribute to a loved one. The Reception Center on the Brunner Campus has a
private entrance, reception room with bar and lounge area and can host up to
125 guests. A full bar including beer, wine and liquor is available as well as
a menu ranging from hors d’oeuvres to plated hot meals. Pastry table and coffee
services are also available during your visitation.
