Lawrence Martucci

Lawrence Martucci, 75, a longtime Mentor resident, died October 6, 2019 at Lake West Medical Center. He was born September 2, 1944 in Cleveland. Mr. Martucci met his wife, Diane, in the 9th grade at Collinwood High School and they dated for 6 years before getting married in 1964. Together they raised four beautiful sons, and he loved them all with his whole heart. Larry’s occupations included co-owner and operator, with his wife, of Martucci’s Bake Shoppe and Party Center. He also worked as a machinist at National Acme and PCC Airfoils. Mr. Martucci coached his sons’ baseball, softball, and football teams with the Mentor youth leagues. He loved getting together with his family for poker games, horseshoes, cookouts, and smoking his stogies. He enjoyed word searches, playing solitaire, and listening to Frank Sinatra. He and his family always went to Conneaut Lake Park, and Fairyland Forest. He was a baseball card collector who liked to watch the Indians, Browns, Cavaliers, and boxing. Larry’s true passion was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a great papa to all the grandkids and he will be deeply missed. He and his wife traveled together and went on many cruises. His favorite trip he took was to Europe, and Vancouver B.C. where they enjoyed visiting with family. He also loved to travel to Florida to visit his mom, sister, nephews, and niece. More than anything, Larry loved his wife’s home cooked meals. Survivors are his wife, Diane; sons, Larry (Heather), Tony (Carol), Domenic (Stacy) and Dean (Carrie) Martucci; grandchildren, Jessica (James) Fordyce; Tony (Cali Bronson) Martucci Jr., Domenic Martucci Jr., Zackery Karaba, Emma Martucci, Eva Martucci, Mallory Martucci, and Nicky Martucci; great granddaughter, Mia; mother, Jane Martucci; sister, Virginia (Louis) Colonna; and his brother, Dale (Pam) Martucci. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence E. Martucci; and his two dogs, Rocco I (Boxer), and Rocco II (English Mastiff). The family will receive friends to celebrate Larry’s life from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
