Michael J. White Sr.

Michael J. White Sr., 76, of Mentor, gently passed into the arms of God, on September 27, 2022 at Mt. Saint Joseph, in Euclid, after losing his brave journey in battling his brain cancer. He was a very strong, kind, honest and hardworking gentleman who helped his family and friends whenever needed. Mike, as he was called by his family and friends, was born May 18, 1946 in Cleveland to the late Anthony and Santa White. He married his second wife, Joanne, on December 31, 1976. He was a loyal friend and beloved husband to her and each of them felt truly blessed to have found love again and to have had such a wonderful life together – the joyful memories are endless! Mike was a 55 year member of the IBEW Local 38 and received a Service Award pin. He retired in May of 2007 and started traveling. He was blessed to live out most of his bucket list, and especially enjoyed his last 15 day European trip of a lifetime in June 2019. While retired, Mike also enjoyed his Wednesday golf league (thanks for all your prayers and support), shooting pool at the Mentor Senior Center and gardening in the raised garden he built at home, where he grew tomatoes and loved sharing his crop with family and friends. He loved the endless family cookouts and traveling to visit his children’s homes in various states. He was also a man of faith, and attended St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Concord, where Fr. Fred Pausche remarried both Mike and Joanne into the Catholic community. When he was well, he also ushered at the 11:30 a.m., Mass. Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joanne "Jo" White (nee: Yuko); children, Michael White Jr., Melissa (Keith Brick) Haley, Christopher (Melinda) White and Joe (Teresa) Miskulin; grandchildren, Anthony, Taylor, Mikey, Grady, Gracyn, Corbin and Riley; sister, Joanne (Larry) Wesbecher (Thank you for all of your help and support) and many other loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio 44060. A funeral service to conclude the visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
