Rosemary Theresa Brown Taylor

Rosemary Theresa Brown Taylor, age 91, of Mentor, died January 2, 2021 at Anna Maria of Aurora. She was born February 7, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Mary Agnes Coyne Brown Lewis and Edward Brown, and was raised by her Stepfather, Robert Lewis. A graduate of Collinwood High School, class of 1948, Rosemary was one of the Cleveland Indians greatest fans! As a teen, she worked at League Park in Cleveland, and she loved watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing various sports. After raising her family, Rosemary worked in food service for the Mentor Schools. She became an avid member of the Mentor Senior Center after her husband passed away and loved her water exercise classes and socializing with her many friends. Spending time with her family and friends was her greatest joy. Rosemary married Raymond R. Taylor on April 13, 1948. They raised their family and retired in Mentor. She is survived by her four children, Carol (Thomas) Hurst of Painesville Twp., Joseph (Lynnette) Taylor of Painesville Twp., Michael (Elizabeth) Taylor of Marco Island, Florida, and Raymond (Chris) Taylor of Athens, Alabama; seven grandchildren: Heather (Stephen) Dodd, Amy (David) Hackney, Dawn (Steven) Kallay, Thomas (Amy) Hurst, Danielle Penny, Justin (Jennifer) Taylor, and Marissa Taylor; two step-grandchildren Robbie Whalen and Kate (Derek) Phelps; twenty-one great-grandchildren; Harrison, Mitchell, and William Dodd; Luke, Jarred, Aidan, and Ava Hackney; Madeline, Brycen, Aislyn, Cohen, and Gillian Hurst; Steven and Peyton Kallay; Hannah Conti; Alyssia and Camryn Franklin; Sophie Phelps; Trey Taylor; Michael and Zachary Taylor; and two great-great-grandchildren Zarianna and Zaire Durham. She is also survived by her sister Sara (Sally) Lewis White and her brother-in-law, Howard Adkins, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Agnes Coyne Brown Lewis and Edward Brown; stepfather Robert Lewis; her loving husband Raymond Taylor; siblings Nora Brown Doorley, Patrick Lewis, Robert Lewis, John (Jack) Lewis, Mary Helen Lewis Adkins, and Beatrice Lewis Csizmadia. Private family services were held in memory of Rosemary with burial taking place in Mentor Cemetery.
