Anthony "Tony" Germano

Anthony “Tony” Germano, 77, of Mentor passed away peacefully on September 17, 2022 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 31, 1944 in Cleveland, to the late Anthony and Connie (nee: DelGrosso) Germano. Tony attended St. Joseph’s and Collinwood High School and served in the US army. He retired from Independence Excavating Inc. and the Ohio Operating Engineers in 2002. Everyone who knew Tony knew him as a thoughtful and generous person. He was always willing and available to offer a helping hand. He participated in many golf leagues and enjoyed golfing with his family and friends. He also loved playing cards and games with his family. Beloved husband of Gloria Germano (nee: DeMark) for 56 years; loving father of Gloria Germano, Anthony Germano and Annie (Greg) Holt; adoring grandfather to Olivia (Fiancé: Marijo Musa) Lewis, Anthony Germano, Kyle Holt, Allison (Curtis) Corle and 4 great-grandchildren; cherished brother of Joanne Teodosio, Eleanor (Jim) Albanese and Carol Hinko; brother-in-law to Jerry (Joanne) DeMark, Sarah Kukwa, Mary Ann Stankiewicz, Florence (Rio) DeGennaro, Joe DeMark, Guy DeMark, Richard (Josephine) DeMarco and Roxanne (Walter) Bremenour and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Preceding Tony in death are his sisters, Virginia Mazza and Elaine Germano; mother and father-in-law, Gaetano and Ann DeMark; brothers-in-law, Vince Teodosio, Pete Mazza, Jerry Hinko, John Stankiewicz and Tony Kukwa and nephews, Donald DeMark and Michael DeGennaro. The family will receive friends and family 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio, 44060. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday September 21, 2022, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio, 44060. Please meet at the church.
