Catherine M. "Kate" (Caulfield) Tropp

Catherine M. “Kate” (Caulfield) Tropp, age 92 of Mentor, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Ohman Family Living at Holly, Newbury, OH. She was born November 5th, 1931 in Piqua, OH. Kate was a retired executive assistant for 25 years with Anderson Consulting and Cleveland Crane & Engineering. Kate enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans for the family. She also participated in making hats, booties, and baby blankets that were donated to the Christ Child Society of which she was a member for many years. Kate also enjoyed seeing all of her grandchildren in their school events. She loved to bake for her family and would always bake a cake for co-workers’ birthdays. She was on work bowling leagues, golf leagues, and played in a monthly pinochle card game with a group of neighbors that became life-long friends. Survivors include her husband of 71 years: William M. “Bill” Tropp; children: Kenneth (Theresa) Tropp , James (Jo Ann Luisi) Tropp , Renee (Joseph) Maslanko and Raymond (Sandra) Tropp; grandchildren: Heather (David) Mariano , Katherine (Anthony) Conway, Noah (Jacqueline) Tropp, Matthew (Colette) Tropp, David Tropp, Robert Luisi Ross, Shannon Egan, Kevin (Katie) Egan, Jeremy (Alexandra) Maslanko, Maria, Hannah and William Tropp; great-grandchildren: Leo, Fiona, Tommy, Dolan, Louise, Aiden, Mickayla, Emma, Abigail, Samuel, Madison and Colton; sisters: Trudy Burris and Delores Broerman. Preceding Catherine in death are her parents: James and Doris Caulfield; siblings: Vivian Helbling, Edward, Robert, William and Daniel Caulfield. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Mentor, OH 44060. Please meet at the church.
