Christa "Chris" (Muehl) Dubeansky Cook

Christa “Chris” (Muehl) Dubeansky Cook, age 61, passed away peacefully in her sleep February 22, 2016 at home in Venice, FL, with the memories of her loved ones in her heart. Chris was born January 27th, 1955 to Bob and Romelda Muehl. She resided in Willoughby, OH throughout childhood and married her first love John Dubeansky of Mentor, OH. Chris and John built their lives together, raising three wonderful children. After the loss of her first husband she was fortunate to find another love, Kevin Cook of Painesville, OH, who she married on October 20, 2001. After years of working together, they pursued her lifelong dream of living in Florida. Together they have enjoyed Florida sunsets for the last 14 years. When Chris wasn’t enjoying her beloved Florida sunshine she enjoyed scrapbooking and other crafts. However, her true passion was spending time with her three children and becoming a devoted nana to five beloved grandchildren. Chris is known for having a big heart. She dedicated many years of her life to volunteerism. At St. Mary of the Assumption church in Mentor, Ohio, Chris dedicated many hours to ensuring their annual festival was a success. Chris took great pride in giving to others. Her family and friends attest to how Chris’s love and caring for them had significant impacts on their lives; she will be forever remembered for helping others and her generosity. Chris is survived and deeply missed by her loving father and step mother, Bob and Donna Muehl, her devoted husband Kevin Cook, and her three children and their spouses: Lisa Dubeansky, TJ (Chrissy) Dubeansky and Jason (Katy) Dubeansky. She was also the proud and loving nana to grandchildren Maggie, Addie, Emmie, Brinley, and Jackson Dubeansky. Chris is also survived by her brothers Rob and Gary Muehl and their spouses Lisa Quin and Becky Muehl, her in-laws, along with many loving nieces and nephews from the Muehl, Dubeansky, and Cook families. She is preceded in death by her mother and first loving husband John Dubeansky. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 1-4 pm on Sunday February 28, 2016 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH. A Catholic mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, February 29 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave. Mentor OH. Please meet at the church.
