Dave Stawiery

Dave Stawiery, 57, of Concord Township, formerly of Willoughby, has departed this life after a courageous battle with renal cancer. He was the loving husband of Gale Leonard-Stawiery; stepfather of Chad Leonard, Fred and Doug Kinford from his previous marriage to Bonnie (Kinford) Stawiery; stepgrandson, Kyle Kinford; though separated by distance and time, his sister, Helen MacClellan; a host of friends who cared deeply for him; and his beloved dogs, Anjin and Sassy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Waneta and Carl; and other relatives. Dave was employed for the past 15 years at Cleveland Clinic as a Systems Analyst in the Information Technology Division. He was previously employed at several electronics companies, most notably Texas Instruments. Dave was born Aug. 30, 1955, in Akron. He grew up in Cuyahoga Falls and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1973. He received his degree in electronic engineering technology and earned numerous IT certifications over the years. He lived in Texas, then later returned to Ohio. Dave excelled in home projects, which he completed to perfection. A computer guru, his knowledge base was phenomenal! Additionally, he and wife, Gale, enjoyed sharing their lives together, traveling to wine country, spending time in nature and hosting many a bad sci-fi night with his closest friends. He was a talented poet and musician, known for the many inspiring songs he wrote. Dave will be fondly remembered for his wit, humor, tenacity and strong will. An insightful, brilliant man, he inspired many with his philosophical outlook on life and love. His quantum journey of 10,000 light years has just begun, but we know deep in our hearts that he will always be with us. If there was anybody who could send a message when they got there, it would be Dave.
