Dawn Marie (Plummer) Bowen

On January 14, Dawn Marie (Plummer) Bowen, 40, passed away unexpectedly and heaven gained an angel as this beautiful soul left our earthly world far too soon. She was born May 13, 1984 in Euclid. Dawn was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, loved-one and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Filled with a genuinely kind and compassionate spirit, Dawn will always be remembered for the special way she treated everyone around her and the way she could make you feel with her warm smile and thoughtful words. She had the biggest heart and a gift for caring for others. She loved her family and friends dearly and unconditionally. Dawn was raised in Mentor, Ohio in a loving family with her parents, Dave and Carol, and brother, David. Dawn led the way for David and showed him how to be a good child, sibling, and then parent. She was the ideal role-model and always was there any time David was in need. Watching their daughter grow from a happy child into a lovely woman and wonderful mother was the greatest joy and source of pride for her parents. In junior high school, Dawn met and became friends with Michael and that would be the start of something truly special. Their friendship led to a devoted true love and they were married in 2009. Together, Mike and Dawn built a beautiful family with the births of Isabella, Noah and Jacob. Right away, Dawn was an extraordinary mommy. She absolutely cherished her babies and held them at the center of her universe. Mike and Dawn parented together beautifully, creating opportunities and supporting their children in every way. Dawn’s love for her children was palpable and her adoring and nurturing ways made her the kind of mother others would want to strive to be like. Dawn’s greatest qualities will live on in Isabella, Noah and Jacob. Dawn was the very best friend. People and relationships were important to her and she maintained many lifelong friendships while also welcoming new friends along the way. Her capacity to love others seemed to be endless. People were drawn to her positive energy and just being around her brought so much happiness to others. She had the sweetest laugh and made people feel special and seen. She was selfless and generous. With her passion for taking care of others, Dawn was destined for a career as a healthcare provider, where she would ultimately help countless children and families through her practice as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She was a hardworking and dedicated professional, who always demonstrated great integrity. She was humble about her accomplishments, but it was impressive when she earned her Master’s degree in nursing from Ursuline College, while pregnant and working as a Registered Nurse. Her abundance of knowledge and sweet bedside manner gave parents comfort as they placed their own children’s well-being in her hands. She was honored to be entrusted with this most important role. And, Dawn was truly never off-the-clock, as she took special care of all of those around her anytime she was needed. Not only did Dawn take care of people physically, but she did so spiritually as well. Dawn was a prayer-warrior and a woman of faith who thoroughly enjoyed church services, bible studies and giving back to her community. Those who spent any time with Dawn, were truly blessed– she was a shining light, spreading kindness and warmth wherever she went. Survivors include Dawn’s husband of 15 years: Michael Bowen, children: Isabella, Noah and Jacob, parents: Dave and Carol Plummer, brother: David (Sarah) Plummer, in-laws: Michael and Donna Bowen, sister-in-law: Sara (Rick) Kanahan, brother-in-law: Bryan (Shannon) Bowen, nieces and nephews: Harper, Evan, MaKenna, Ethan and Layla, grandparents: Charles and Janice Ball and grandmother-in-law: Magdalen Lorence and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Dawn was preceded in death by her grandparents: Lois and Frank Plummer and grandparents-in-law: Mary and Robert Bowen. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A funeral service to conclude the gathering will begin at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Dawn’s family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support that has been shared with them during this most difficult time and knows it’s a testament to how many people were positively impacted by their beloved Dawn.
