Delores Teresa Saada

Delores Teresa Saada, 83 of Chagrin Falls, Ohio passed away on May 3rd 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born September 13, 1938 in East Rochester, NY, to the late John and Edith Persichitti. Although an only child, Delores had a large loving family of many Persichitti, Volpe and Ferrimani cousins, aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, John M. Saada, Sr. In addition to her husband of 59 years, Delores is survived by her two sons, John (Eliza) and Bob (Kristen) and four grandchildren, Katie, Will, Erin and Henry. Her husband and children wish for you to think of Delores’ passing as not the end, rather the beginning of life eternal. You may have known Delores as the Devoted Mother of Boys, Lover of the Opera, Devout Catholic, Pianist, Teacher, Straight Talker, Insatiable Reader or Proud Italian. Thanks to a blind date and a lucky coin toss, John and Delores met in the Spring of 1960 and were married August 24th 1963. Delores lived her life with a giant heart raising her two boys and, as the first in her family to go to college, focusing much of her life on learning and education. After graduating from Lake Erie College in 1960, which included six months of studies at the University of Pisa in Italy, Delores went on to complete her Master’s in Education at Middlebury College and the University of Rochester. Delores always put family first but was also proud of her time as a high school and college teacher of World History and Italian and as a tutor to Special Education students. Delores’ passion for education was highlighted by her many contributions as a member of the Lake Erie College Board of Trustees. Her commitment to lifelong learning was further underscored by her self taught fluency in reading and writing Braille while in her 60’s. In the end, the love and devotion that she and her husband John shared over 59 years was an inspiration to all who knew them. They were truly at peace when together at their 30 year vacation home in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, walking the beach and playing golf together, socializing with their many friends and going to sleep every night feeling extremely blessed for their endless love of each other, their children and their grandchildren. Private family services will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, Chagrin Falls, OH and Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, OH.
