Diane M. (McAllister) Szoradi

Diane M. (McAllister) Szoradi, age 77 of Mentor, died Saturday May 13, 2017 at Hospice House, Cleveland. She was born December 10, 1939 in Cleveland, OH, where she grew up. She met her husband of 44 years and set roots in Mentor Ohio. She raised a family and enjoyed bowling, golfing, church picnics and dancing with her husband. She went on to work as a sales representative at JCPenny in fashions. She retired after 17 years. In retirement she enjoyed platting flowers, gambling at the slot machines, and playing in sandboxes with her grandchildren. She enjoyed holiday decorating, and having Easter egg hunts with the grandkids. She loved vacationing at the beach and getting a sun tan. She loved many pets over her life. She was a founding parishioner of St. John Vianney Church, a breast cancer survivor, and a sober member of AA for 45 years. She was a wonderful mother who showed strength, courage, patience, kindness, love and the strength of the fighting Irish to the end. No more suffering no more pain. In heaven as a young woman with loved ones waiting for her. We will miss our mom, be at peace finally. Survivors include her children: Michelle M. (Steven) Weber of Mentor, Richard M. (Michelle) Szoradi of Painesville, Terrance K. (Karen) Szoradi of Eastlake, Cherie L Szoradi (Julie Stratton) of Mt. Dora, FL and Melissa A. “Missy” Szoradi of Willoughby; grandchildren: Paige (Mike), Austin and Faith Weber, Aliana, Kaylan and Marisa Szoradi, Shannon (Ruben) Mook, Ashley (Anthony) Munitz, Samantha Szoradi; great-grandchildren: Ciarra and Brianna Mook; sister: Sara “Sally” Welsh brother: James (Marlene) McAllister and she was a beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceding Diane in death is her husband: Richard V. Szoradi; parents: James and Georgia McAllister; sister: Francine Panehal (Robert), brother, Dan McAllister and brother in law: Joe Welsh. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. The funeral mass will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. 7575 Bellflower Rd. Mentor, OH 44060. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery, Mentor.
