Dolores (Parent) Parsons

Dolores (Parent) Parsons, age 91 of Painesville, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 11, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 13, 1931 in Germantown, PA. During her professional career, Mrs. Parsons was an Administrator for the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, retiring in 1992. She also had numerous professional affiliations, serving as President of Deepwood Industries, Vice President of the SELF Board, Vice-President/Treasurer for Extended Housing for Mental Health. Dolores enjoyed her retirement years in many volunteer positions, and especially found joy in her role as a reading tutor for Buckeye Elementary School. She often said, “I have lived many different lives”; as a result, she happily answered to many different names: Mom, Ma, Mother, Doady, Dolores, Mrs. Parsons, Mrs. P., Grandmy, Aunt Doady, “the Hammer”, and either by birth or from the heart, Grammy. Survivors include her children: Jacqueline Parsons, Elizabeth (Mark) Norcini and Stephen (Christina) Parsons; 11 grandchildren: Anne (Ken) Pulaski, James Flynn, Jeffrey (Brianne) Norcini, Katie Norcini, Jaclyn (Tom) Blair, Stephen P. (Joanna) Parsons, Sarah (Kameron) Perry, Ryck Parsons, Angeline (David) Veasey, Randall (Amanda) Parsons and Shelby (Joshua) Campbell; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings: Don (Cathy) Parent, Judy Ribar, Rick (Teresa) Parent, Katie (Kenneth) Petruzelli, sister-in-law Cathy Parent, and dear family friend: Debbie (Michael) Adams. Preceding Dolores in death are her husband: John Parsons, son: Richard Parsons, parents: Donald and Mary Ann Parent, siblings: Peggy (David) White, Mary (Bryant) Mathews, David (Carolyn) Parent and Larry Parent; and brother-in-law: Michael Ribar. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 pm Friday, February 17, 2023 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor, OH 44060. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 18, 2023 at St. Mary Church, 242 N. State St. Painesville, OH 44077. Please meet at the church.
