Harry "Bob" Fisher

Harry “Bob” Fisher, age 81 of Mentor, OH, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 8, 2024 at the David Simpson Hospice House. He was born December 17, 1942 in Cleveland, OH. A US Army Sergeant Veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War as a Combat Engineer; Bob was a self-employed home-building contractor and plumber. He was a man of integrity, strong-willed and stubborn at times, but had an enormous heart and a great sense of humor. He was generous with his time, knowledge and abilities. Bob was well respected in the construction industry. He was really a “Bob” of all trades; there was nothing he couldn’t do, and he loved to use his talents and abilities to help others. He enjoyed volunteering much of his time at Stony Glen Camp, where he designed and built six structures. Once he fully retired, Bob became a faithful “Tuesday Guy” and continued to help renovate most every building on the camp premises. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Bob enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He could always be found in attendance at one of his six grandchildren’s sporting and/or academic events. Many memories were made with his grandchildren; drawing, fishing, hiking, teaching them archery, golf, how to build, bowling, gardening, whittling, baking, “wall” ball, ceramics and so much more. Bob loved to travel and spent many vacations with his family. Most of all, he loved traveling with his wife, Sharon, enjoying all of God's magnificent creations, especially the mountains and National Parks. While our family has lost a beloved husband, dad and papa; many have lost a good friend. Bob has been a rock to many, a master at sarcastic humor and witty timing to all! He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon J.; son, Craig R. Fisher; daughter, Kelly E. (Dan) Smith; grandchildren, Cayden and Carly Fisher; Danny, Nathan, Dominic and Colton Smith; brother, Dale (Joyce) Fisher; nieces, Jody Fisher and Jamie Wintz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry R. and Betty J. Fisher. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Friends Church: Willoughby Hills, 2846 SOM Center Rd., Willoughby Hills, OH 44094. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 prior to the service at the church.
