Jeanne Patrice Humpal

Jeanne Patrice Humpal passed away peacefully on January 14, 2023, at Governor’s Pointe in Mentor just ten days shy of her 94th birthday. Born January 24, 1929, Jeanne spent her childhood in Cleveland Heights, graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois and attended Ripon College in Wisconsin. Jeanne retired from University Mednet in Euclid where she assisted patients in the insurance department. She was a great listener, kind, non-judgmental and always in good spirits, regardless of her health or circumstances. Jeanne was an avid reader, a news junkie, a longtime tennis and golf fan and a closet rocker. She loved to blast her favorite Queen, Talking Heads or Rod Stewart CDs when alone. Jeanne was also an excellent cook and enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. Especially anything with chocolate. She was a proud chocoholic. Family always came first with her. Mom was a selfless, generous, and loving wife, sister, mother, G-mom, and great-grandmother. The best anyone could ask for! She is survived by her daughters Sharon Croucher (Ross), Lynne Zele (Joe) and Pam Peters, nine beloved grandchildren; Brandon Croucher, Veronica Croucher (Jerry Hille), Rebecca Croucher (Brent Long), Josh Zele (Allie), Aubrey Zele (deceased), Sarah Molesky, Hanna Molesky (Aaron Green), Claire Molesky and Emily Molesky, six treasured great-grandchildren; Lisse Croucher, Easton Green, Charlee Green, Layne Green, Lily Molesky and Cameron Zele, her sister Kathie Stamm and nieces Amy Williams (Paul) and Kristen Stamm. Jeanne was married to her late husband Hubert Humpal for fifty years. Over the last three years of her life, she came to consider the very caring assisted living staff and hospice team at Governor’s Pointe her second family. A lunch in celebration of Jeanne’s life, or what she has dubbed her “Wake-nic” will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from noon to 3 pm at the Wildwood Cultural Center, 7645 Little Mountain Road, Mentor, OH 44060.
