Laurie Kramer (nee: Taft)

Laurie Kramer (nee: Taft), 71, of Mentor, passed away June 20, 2024 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born September 2, 1952 in Chardon, Ohio to the late Robert and Eleanor Taft. Laurie was one of the most loving and caring persons whom always gave of her time to those she cherished. Her passion for others reflected in her career trajectory as she started out as a beautician, evolved to be a teacher of cosmetology and eventually retired from a managerial position within AAA. During her time at AAA, Laurie discovered her love of traveling which lead to many cruises with friends and family centered vacations. Among some of her greatest joys in life was that of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Laurie and her husband Fred, loved to take day trips, trying new restaurants with friends and volunteering their time at church as youth group parent advisors. Laurie and her three children spent time together learning how to make her special recipes such as her legendary cougan and cheesecake. She adored her four grandchildren. Many memories were made with her grandchildren making crafts, reading stories, learning to tie shoes, learning to ride bikes and going on different adventures. One of Laurie’s favorite places to be with the love of her life was alongside a sandy beach, under the sun, with a great novel. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Fred Kramer; children, Jason (Laura) Kramer, Jennifer (Samer) AlMared and Julie (Mathew) Roskey; grandchildren, Jaiden and Mallory Kramer and Mya and Adam AlMared; brother-in-law, Patrick O’Leary; nieces, nephews and many other loving family members and friends. Preceding Laurie in death are her brother, Robert (Barbara) Taft and sister, Patricia O’Leary. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2024 at East Shore United Methodist Church, 23002 Lakeshore Blvd, Euclid, OH 44123.
