Mary Ann Heckman

Mary Ann Heckman, age 83, passed away on April 12, 2026 at Saybrook Landing Health and Rehabilitation in Ashtabula, OH. She was born on December 31, 1942 in Cleveland, OH. She was a kind and gentle soul who brought joy to everyone she met. Living with lifelong developmental challenges, she experienced the world with a beautiful innocence and a childlike spirit that never faded. Her smile, laughter, and unconditional love made a lasting impact on all who knew her. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures-enjoying sweets, dancing and singing, and celebrating holidays. Christmas was especially dear to her, filling her with excitement and joy. She will be remembered for her sweet nature and the love she shared so freely. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who loved her She is survived by her siblings, Richard (Pam) Heckman, Dolores (Del) Stephens, Peg (Gene) Lindsay, Joe (Brenda) Heckman, Jim (Paula) Heckman, Tom (Connie) Heckman, Mark (Patty) Heckman and Kitty (Paul) Rozewski; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Sue, Jerry, Jen, Michelle, Lisa, Kristen, Scott, Cody, Jeff, Tiffany, Chrissy, Tracy, Tommy, Kim, Anna, Paul, Dan and Darlene; great nieces and nephews, Isaac, Brooklyn, Mac, Amanda, Mara, Shane, Justin, Evelyn, Christopher, Nathan, Josh, Caitlyn, Mia, Capri, Hayden, Henley, Ariel, Callan, Cole, Drew, Michael, Thomas, Andrew, Eleanor, Lila, and Ian; and other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marjorie (Smithhisler) Heckman; sister, Rose Kwarciak; brother-in-law, Andy Kwarciak; nephew, Del Stephens III; great-niece, Grace and great-nephew, Noah. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at St. Mary Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville, OH 44077. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, OH.
