Patrick John Tulley

Patrick John Tulley, age 60, of Gates Mills, died October 17, 2018 surrounded by those he loved. Devoted son of Mary Rita (Keating) Tulley and the late Joseph P. Tulley, loving brother of Deborah Tulley Hill, Candace Tulley Kermode, Ellen (David) Ondrey, Sarah (James) Ihlenfield, Mary (Edward) Jahnke, and sister-in-law Donna Cahill Tulley; uncle to numerous nieces and nephews; and dear and loyal friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph, brother Timothy, and brothers-in-law John Kermode and Brookes Hill. Born in Cleveland March 26, 1958 and raised in Mentor, he attended St. Mary of the Assumption School, Lake Catholic High School, The Ohio State University, Cleveland Marshall College of Law, J.D., 1994, cum laude, and Case Western Reserve University School of Law, LL.M Tax, 2001. He worked as a Page at the Ohio State House, was a Congressional Rep for the Republican National Committee, and served for several years as the Clerk of the Lake County Commissioners. Patrick was a partner at the Cleveland law firm, Kohrman, Jackson and Krantz, where he was Chair of the firm’s Wealth Planning Practice Group. While he was a highly skilled tax and estate-planning attorney, families he counseled remember a kind and soft-spoken friend who was always looking out for their best interests. A consummate handyman, Patrick could build or fix just about anything. He was an avid Ohio State fan, he loved fishing, good food, and his frisky Irish terrier, Liam. His greatest pleasure was hanging with his old high school gang from Lake Catholic. He was as fiercely loyal to them as they were to him and we love them all. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8540 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Final resting place will be in Mentor Municipal Cemetery.
