Phyllis Whitmore-Egner

Phyllis Whitmore-Egner, 91, of Concord Twp., passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at home. She was born September 15, 1929 in East Springfield, PA to the late Charles and Mildred Gulliford. Phyllis loved to cook and bake she always prepared a great meal for her family and friends, as well as making several wedding and birthday cakes. She loved to sew, knit, and crochet, during her lifetime she made many formals, dresses, pants, knitted or crocheted hats, sweaters, and scarfs. In the last few years, she made lots of scarfs that were donated to Project Hope for the Homeless. In her earlier years, she loved to paint, sculpt, needlepoint, and latch hook design. During her lifetime she worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, receptionist, meat cutter, and finally as a beautician until she retired. Living in Conneaut, she was an active member at East Conneaut Baptist Church, then at the Old Time Baptist Church. Phyllis loved the outdoors going camping with the family, first using tents then using a pop-up and a travel trailer. Survivors include her children, Gary Egner, Carol Jean (Vince) Blancato and Keith Charles (Teresa) Egner Sr.; grandchildren, Tracy (Tim) Derylak, Keith Egner Jr., Ginger Egner, Scott Stolz, Christine Randolfi, and Jennifer Egner; great-grandchildren, Derik Housel and Mearia Housel and Stephanie and Michael Wyant; step-children, Jim (Ellen) Whitmore Jr., Ruby Whitmore and Becky Burgos; step-grandchildren, William Whitmore, Tom (Joy) Whitmore, Michele (Jerry) South and Dave (Dawn) Whitmore and many other great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other loving family members and friends. Preceding Phyllis in death are her husband, Jim Whitmore; son, Mickey Egner; grandson, Richard Egner; siblings, Lois Cotton and Bill Weber and step-children, Thomas Whitmore, Ronald Whitmore, John Whitmore, and Arlene Kubiak. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial to take place in Concord Twp., Cemetery, following service.
