Richard E. "Dick" Warman

Richard E. “Dick” Warman, 92 of Kirtland, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at home, at peace, and surrounded by family. Dick was born May 16, 1931 to Clarence “Hap” Warman and Bertha Warman (nee Shawe) in Buffalo, NY. Growing up he lived in Buffalo, New Jersey and Lakewood, OH and made lifelong friends wherever he went. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Dick returned to Ohio and attended Ohio University. Soon after he married his wife of 64 years, Concetta “Connie” (nee Rifici.) Dick enjoyed a long career in Transportation with time spent at Republic Steel and then 27 years at Lubrizol Corporation as a Transportation Manager. He maintained close contacts and friendships with many of his co-workers for the remainder of his life. Dick is survived by his wife, Connie, son, Mark (Jeanne) Warman, and daughters, Cheryl (Fred) Schossler and Suzanne (Sam) Santilli. He was a devoted parent, grandfather to Mark, Dennis, Christina, Diana, Mark, Kevin, Eric, Branden, Michael, Joseph and Theresa; great-grandfather of Bobbie, Madelyn, Nick, Lila, Spencer and Philip; beloved uncle to many; and father in law to Debbie Warman. He was preceded in death by his son, Rick Warman, and his siblings, Cal, Ed, and Dorothy. Dick will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, and devotion to his family. He particularly enjoyed a good book, time spent outdoors in nature or playing tennis and golf. He cherished time spent with family and friends and he will be missed greatly by many. He was a wonderful husband to Connie and an amazing role model to all. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave, Mentor, OH 44060. Private family inurnment will be in Kirtland South Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Dick to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
