Richard Monasky

Richard Monasky, age 71, of Mentor, died Thursday June 23, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. Mr. Monasky was a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force. Richard was an avid gardener. As a young man he worked at Mentor Rose Growers Inc, and enjoyed nature and the Holden Arboretum. He was a family oriented man. Survivors include his siblings: Diane (John) Kromar, Susan Sweet, Eileen (Bo) Mitchell, Joanne and Edward Monasky; nieces & nephews: Russell (Amy) Sweet, Kimberly (Raymond) (Sweet) Crock, Aaron (Marie) Jackimowicz, Christopher (Rebecca) Monasky, Elizabeth Monasky, Hannah Monasky and Lucas Monasky; 10 great nieces and nephews. Preceding Richard in death are his parents: Edward P and Irene Monasky and nephew Kevin Kromar. There will be a memorial mass 12 noon Thursday June 30, 2016 in the chapel at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd. Concord, OH. A private inurnment service will be held at a later date at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, OH. I leave myself not to the undertaker, for decoration in his house of the dead, but to your memory, with love. I give you what no thief can steal, the memories of our times together: the tender, love-filled moments, the successes we have shared, the hard times that brought us closer together and the roads we have walked side by side. I also leave you a solemn promise that after I am home in the bosom of God, I will still be present, whenever and wherever you call on me. My energy will be drawn to you by the magnet of our love. Whenever you are in need, call me; I will come to you, with my arms full of wisdom and light to open up your blocked paths, to untangle your knots and to be your avenue to God. And all I take with me as I leave is your love and the millions of memories of all that we have shared. So l truly enter my new life as a millionaire.
