Sandra "Sandy" Stewart

Sandra “Sandy” Stewart (née Guy), of Willoughby, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandy was born on March 29, 1956, to Lewis and Irene Guy. She was raised in Willoughby and graduated from Willoughby South High School before beginning a life centered on family, service, and compassion. On June 26, 1976, she married the love of her life, Jerry Stewart, and together they built a loving life sharing 50 years of marriage in Mentor, Ohio. Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Stewart; her children, Jeremy Stewart (Tiffany) and Kathryn “Katie” Stewart; and her beloved granddaughters, Emilia and Zoey Stewart, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her brother, David Guy; her brother-in-law, Jeff Stewart; and her nieces and nephews, Jason Guy (Jamie), Sean Guy (Bri), Cali Horsfall (Asa), and Brianna Stewart, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Irene Guy; her brother, Richard Guy; her sister-in-law, Patty; her father-in-law, Jerry Stewart Sr; and mother-in-law, Bonnie Stewart. For 35 years, Sandy dedicated her career to the Mentor School District, where she worked as an Educational Aide with preschool and elementary school children. She had a special gift for connecting with young learners and found great purpose in helping children grow, learn, and succeed. Her patience, kindness, and unwavering encouragement left a lasting impact on countless students and families. Outside of work, Sandy found happiness in the simple things that made life beautiful. She took immense pride in tending her vegetable and flower gardens, loved discovering the perfect bargain while shopping on QVC and HSN, and enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy. Her kitchen was often filled with the aromas of home-cooked meals and freshly baked treats that she lovingly shared with family and friends. Some of her happiest memories were made during annual beach vacations with her family in the Outer Banks, North Carolina, where she cherished time spent together by the ocean. More than anything, Sandy will be remembered for her generous heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She never met a stranger and had a true gift for conversation, making everyone she met feel welcome and valued. Her infectious laugh could brighten any room, and her warmth and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She found joy in caring for others and created a home filled with love, laughter, and unconditional support. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her kindness, dedication, compassion, and the countless memories she leaves behind.
