Stephen Lisy

Stephen Lisy, 70, of Chardon passed away unexpectedly September 26, 2018 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Born March 4, 1948 in Cleveland, he lived a wonderful life of dedication to his family with a strong sense of adventure. His wife, whom he spent the last 28 years with, and his two grandchildren, ages 7 and 4, kept his heart full and they adored him in return. Mr. Lisy graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1966 and received his master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Cleveland State University. Steve worked for Bailey Meter until 1971 as a QA Inspector and Buyer. He was an Electronics Engineer for the Department of the U.S. Navy and retired his working career as a Contract Operations Manager in Dayton, Ohio for the United States Department of Defense. Both he and his step-son, John, were instrumentally hands-on in building his retirement dream house in Chardon, Ohio. Steve was an avid fisherman and loved his vegetable garden. He was proud of his wood-working projects both in home repair and keeping a good number of birds housed. He was passionate about taking part in numerous memorial motorcycle tribute rides honoring our fallen heroes. Survivors are his wife, Catherine Lisy (nee Iannicelli); faithful surrogate father to Jeff (Kristi) Pakeltis, Carolynn Raish (Pakeltis), and John Pakeltis; his precious grandchildren, Tommy and Leo Pakeltis; brothers Alan (Joni) Lisy and Tony (Beth) Lisy; cousins Alexis and Jimmy Corrado; loved by his nieces and nephews and their loving children and many other loving family members and friends. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Theresa Lisy (nee Pasquale), and his cousin, Patti Corrado. The family will receive friends from 4-8p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor, Ohio 44060. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd. Mentor, OH 44060 (Please meet at the church.) Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
