Suzanne Cecelia Ferron

Suzanne Cecelia Ferron, 90, of Chardon, passed away October 23, 2022 at Maplewood of Chardon. She was born October 27, 1931 in Akron, to the late Charles and Sara (nee: McMurray) Huggans. Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother and daughter, with her family being her whole life. She enjoyed watching her family grow as grandchildren and greatgrandchildren expanded the Ferron family. She enjoyed learning more about her family through genealogy as a hobby. She traveled extensively within the US and Europe to trace the families’ roots. Her commitment to learn the family history was comprehensive and filled with joy. She recognized that her love of her family was her future. Suzanne made a career at Laurelwood Hospital as the business office manager. Her outside employment initially was necessary but became a career that she thoroughly enjoyed. Her contribution to her employer added to the success of the organization. Once Suzanne retired, she enjoyed travelling, volunteering at Lake County History Center and was vital in the project creating The Phoenix Peace Fountain that was placed at Anderson Park, Coleraine, Ireland in July 2008. Survivors include her children, Beth (Lewis) Pettit, Michael (Theresa) Ferron, Timothy (Colleen Dever) Ferron, Kathleen (Jonathan) Spivak and Patrick Ferron. 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Preceding Suzanne in death are her husband, John William Ferron; sister, Marilyn Sain; grandson, Joshua Ferron and great grandson, Timothy Michael Ferron. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A Celebration of Life mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Entombment to follow at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
