Thomas "Tom" Wenzlik

Thomas “Tom” Wenzlik, 79, of Kirtland, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord, February 27, 2026 at Regina Healthcare, Richfield, Ohio. He was born September 12, 1946 in Cleveland, to the late John and Helen Wenzlik. After graduating from Richmond Heights High School, Tom attended Ohio University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. Shortly after, together with his father, John Wenzlik, they founded New Skills, Inc., a tool and die company located in Willoughby, OH. Tom was a very proud owner/operator and stayed active in every aspect of the business. When not at work, Tom enjoyed fishing, bowling, and spending time with friends and family on his boat, comically named, “Ok-Fine”. Tom could also always be found at his children’s sporting events, either coaching or cheering on from the sidelines. Above all, Tom cherished time together with, “the love of his life”, Carol, cheering on their favorite Cleveland sports teams. Tom had a clever wit about him, was extremely generous, and never took himself too seriously. He lived a life serving others and always wanted to make those around him happy. The last several years, Tom was a resident at Regina Healthcare, where he truly lived out his life’s mission. Beloved by the residents and staff, Tom could be found singing his favorite Elvis songs and finding ways to bring joy to all around him. Even as we say goodbye, his life lived will continue to act as inspiration of love, faith, and humility. You’ll be forever missed. Survivors include his children, Brandon (Julie) Wenzlik, Jennifer (Mike) Steidl and Heidi (Sam Romain) Wenzlik; grandchildren, Kate Wenzlik, Anna Wenzlik, Claire Wenzlik, Caleb Steidl, Owen Steidl, Aurelia Romain and Juno Romain; stepchildren, Billy Fouts and Greg Fouts; sister, Cathy Patchin and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Preceding Thomas in death are his significant other, Carol Fouts and brother-in-law, Lynn Patchin. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio 44060.
